How to use
Lemon Velvet Tart is a bright citrus scent. Use these steps to keep the lemon zest clean and the custard base soft.
- The first burn sets the candle. Keep it lit for two to three hours, until the melt pool touches the glass.
- Cut the wick to 6 mm before you light it. A short, clean flame gives the clearest lemon scent.
- In a home office, put it at the side of the desk, away from papers and screens.
- Do not burn it for more than four hours in one session.
- Stay in the room while it is lit. Keep children and pets away from it.
- The lemon wedges are moulded wax and the top is piped wax. They are not food, and they melt into the pool.
- Stop with 1 cm of wax left. Clean the jar with warm soapy water and reuse it.

Frequently asked questions
What does Lemon Velvet Tart smell like?
Lemon peel at the top, vanilla custard through the middle, buttery pastry underneath. A dessert scent, not a cleaning-product lemon.
Does it smell like a cleaning product?
No. Cleaning lemon is sharp and thin. This one has custard and pastry under it, which is what makes it read as food.
Is it good for getting rid of stale smells?
It is the brightest candle we make, so it is the one to reach for after cooking or in a room that has been shut up.
Why does citrus fade faster in some candles?
Citrus oils are volatile and burn off first in a hot wax. Coconut soy burns cooler, which is why the lemon here holds through the burn.
Are the lemon wedges on top real?
No. They are moulded wax, and they melt into the pool as the candle burns.
How long does a 10 oz candle burn?
45 to 55 hours, depending on how long you burn it each time and how draughty the room is.
