Gist of Light candles use coconut soy wax in the glass jars and pure soy in the 3.5 oz tins. Both are plant waxes. We do not use paraffin.

Each candle uses plant wax, a cotton or wood wick, and phthalate-free fragrance oil. Trim the wick to 6 mm before every burn, burn the candle for no more than four hours at a time, and stop when 1 cm of wax remains.

A 5 oz candle burns for 25 to 30 hours. Burn time depends on how long you burn it each time and on the draught in the room.

That is tunnelling. It happens when the first burn is too short. Burn a new candle until the melted wax reaches the edge of the jar, which takes two to three hours.

No. The tins hold 3.5 oz of pure soy wax and carry a moulded wax flower. The glass jars hold more, use coconut soy wax, and carry a larger moulded flower, set by hand. The fragrances are the same.

No. Every candle is poured by hand in small batches, so we cannot accept a return for a change of mind or a scent preference. Message us before you order if you are unsure about a fragrance and we will help you choose.

No. The Floral Trio arrives in a white window box with floral tissue paper and an “Open Me” sticker. Give it as it arrives.
