Scent
🍎 Top — Baked apples, soft and warm. This is cooked fruit, not the crisp green note of a fresh apple.
🍦 Heart — Vanilla bean, which gives the apple a creamy, pastry-like sweetness.
🌰 Base — Cinnamon sugar and nutmeg. This is the spice that stays in the room after the flame goes out.
🏠 Best in — Kitchens, living rooms and entryways. Autumn, Thanksgiving and the holidays.
🕯️ Pairs with — Blueberry Waffles for a breakfast pair, Lemon Velvet Tart for a second dessert.
How to use
Apple Pie Crumble is an autumn and holiday candle. These steps help it scent a living room or entryway with a clean, even burn.
- On the first burn, let the whipped top melt down and the pool spread to the glass. This takes two to three hours.
- Use wick trimmers or scissors to take the wick down to 6 mm each time.
- When guests are coming, light it 30 to 60 minutes before they arrive.
- Entryways often have draughts. Put the jar away from the door so the flame stays still.
- Four hours per burn is the limit. Never leave it lit when no one is in the room, and keep it away from children and pets.
- The lattice pie, the heart and the crumble are moulded wax. The whipped top is piped wax. None of it is food.
- When 1 cm of wax is left, stop. Wash the jar and use it as a small plant pot.

Frequently asked questions
What does Apple Pie Crumble smell like?
An apple pie fresh from the oven. Baked apples at the top, vanilla bean in the middle, cinnamon sugar and nutmeg underneath.
Is it a fresh apple scent?
No. A fresh apple scent is crisp and green. This one smells of cooked apples with vanilla and spice. It is closer to a bakery than an orchard.
Is the cinnamon strong?
The spice sits at the base, under the apple and the vanilla. You notice it, but it does not cover the fruit.
Is it a good autumn gift?
Yes. It suits Thanksgiving, a housewarming or a hostess gift. The jar looks like a dessert and the scent is easy to recognise.
Are the pie and the heart on top real food?
No. They are moulded wax, and so is the crumble. Nothing on this candle is food, and the topping melts into the pool as it burns.
How long does a 10 oz candle burn?
45 to 55 hours, depending on how long you burn it each time and how draughty the room is.
