Description
Close your eyes. You’re somewhere warm. There’s a frangipani tree in bloom, the air is soft and slightly salty, and a hibiscus is open on the windowsill catching the afternoon light. This is the exact feeling the Hawaiian Hibiscus candle is designed to bring into your home — without the fourteen-hour flight.
This is one of our most visually striking flower candles: a hand-poured candle topped with a hand-sculpted pink hibiscus flower, built on a tropical white floral base that smells as beautiful as it looks. It’s the candle that people see on a shelf and immediately have to pick up.
The scent, layer by layer
The opening is tropical and bright: fresh hibiscus petals, juicy and floral, with a hint of watery freshness that makes it feel like the blossom was just cut. This isn’t a generic “floral” fragrance that could be anything — it’s specifically hibiscus, recognizably so, and immediately transporting.
The heart softens into white jasmine — soft, feminine, slightly creamy without being sweet. Jasmine is one of the most complex and beautiful florals in perfumery, and here it serves as the bridge between the bright hibiscus top and the warm base: it’s what gives the whole fragrance its depth and staying power.
The base is a warm, light tropical musk — clean rather than heavy, supporting everything above it without overpowering. The overall effect is an island floral that’s bright, sophisticated, and completely addictive.
When to burn it
This is a spring and summer candle, full stop — though customers burn it year-round because the warmth it brings to a room is useful in any season. It works beautifully in bathrooms, bedrooms, and bright living spaces where you want the fragrance to feel like an escape rather than a presence.
Light it before guests arrive. Light it on a grey Tuesday in February when you need to feel like the world is warmer than it currently is. Light it simply because the hand-sculpted hibiscus on top is too beautiful to just look at.
A flower candle made with intention
The hand-sculpted hibiscus on top of this candle isn’t a mould-stamped decoration — it’s shaped individually by hand for each pour. That’s why no two are exactly identical, and why it looks so lifelike. The pale wax body is chosen to let the pink floral embed sit vividly against it.
It photographs strikingly, which is why it’s one of our most-shared candles on Instagram — but it’s also genuinely beautiful in person in a way that photographs don’t fully capture.
Why coconut soy wax is the right choice for floral fragrances
Floral fragrances are among the most nuanced in the fragrance world, with layered top, heart, and base notes that need to release at different rates for the scent to stay true. Paraffin wax, which burns hot, tends to blast the top notes early and leave behind a flattened, one-dimensional version of the fragrance.
Coconut soy wax burns cooler and more consistently, allowing the fragrance oil to release in phases that match how the scent was designed to develop. The hibiscus stays bright for longer. The jasmine heart emerges gradually. The musk base lingers. The result is a candle that smells the same at hour five as it does at hour one.
Our phthalate-free fragrance oils are chosen specifically for their performance in coconut soy wax — tested in our Kelowna studio until we’re satisfied that the scent throw, longevity, and true-to-fragrance character all meet our standard.
Made in Kelowna, BC — small batch, by hand
Every Hawaiian Hibiscus candle is hand-poured and decorated in small batches in our Kelowna studio. The flower on top is shaped by hand before the wax sets. The result is something that couldn’t come from a factory line — each one carries the small, imperceptible variations that mark something genuinely handmade.
We’re in the Okanagan Valley, where the landscape is shaped by warm summers, fruit orchards, and a lake that reflects everything back in gold. That warmth and sensory richness is in every candle we make, even the ones — like this one — that take their inspiration from somewhere else entirely.
The perfect floral gift
This is one of the most reliable gifting candles in our collection because it hits every note a gift should: it looks spectacular, it smells genuinely transporting, and it tells the recipient that the giver thought about it.
It’s perfect for Mother’s Day, birthdays, housewarming gifts, spring and summer gifting, or any occasion where you want to give a flower candle that’s genuinely memorable. It also makes a beautiful addition to the Floral Trio gift set alongside Lavender Paradise and Sunflower.

Candle care
First burn: allow the wax to melt fully to the jar edges — 2–3 hours for this size. The wax has burn memory and will tunnel if extinguished too early on the first burn.
Trim the wick to ¼ inch before each burn. Keep burns under 4 hours. Keep away from drafts. The floral embed on top will melt gradually as you burn — this is expected and part of the candle’s design. The jar is reusable after the candle is spent.
