About Me
I’m Jinita. I pour every candle you’ll find here – by hand, in small batches, in Kelowna. I’ve been a maker my whole life, but candles are where everything clicked. Because a candle isn’t just a scent. It’s a feeling & emotions you share.
How it started
I was always the kid who couldn’t leave things as they were. I had to make it into something. Growing up, I was always building, crafting, and creating.

Born Creative, always building
From childhood, I was the one making things — sketching, crafting, building whatever I could imagine. Moving to Kelowna gave that creativity a home, and candles gave it a purpose.

I don’t make simple candles. I make ones that become part of your home, a scent you remember, a piece you keep long after the wax is gone. Every blow of the flame is the end of a moment worth having.

My father always believed I’d build something crafted from my heart. I launched Gist of Light on his birthday, as a promise, and as proof. Every candle you give carries that same intention: something thoughtful, from someone who cared enough to choose it.
